The Latin American startups that attract the most financing

This week a new agreement was announced between WeWork and Softbank, a joint venture agreement with SoftBank Latin America Fund, - the most important venture fund in Latin America - that will manage coworking operations in the region. With this in mind, let's take a look at Latino startups that are already a unicorn or on their way to becoming one thanks to the levels of investment they attract.

Ecuador's Lasso takes office on vows to address economic crisis

Conservative Ecuadorean president Guillermo Lasso took office on Monday promising to revive an economy battered by the coronavirus pandemic and create jobs for a population weary from years of painful austerity measures.

The 65-year-old former banker in April beat out socialist economist Andres Arauz, who had promised to restore the generous social spending programs of former President Rafael Correa who was in power for a decade until 2017.

Costa Rica officially becomes the 38th member of the OECD

May 26 (UPI) -- Costa Rica has formally become the 38th member of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The Central American nation was inducted into the intergovernmental economic organization on Tuesday after having completed domestic procedures for the ratification of the OECD Convention, bringing an end to a process that began in April 2015, the group said.

Chile's Codelco strikes deal with Microsoft to extend automation at its copper mines

SANTIAGO: Chile's Codelco, the world's largest copper producer, said on Monday it had struck a deal with tech giant Microsoft to fast-track the digitisation of its sprawling mining operations, helping it extend automation and improve analytics.

Perspectives of the Elections and Constitutional Process in Chile

An election for the members of the Constitutional Convention was held in Chile between 15 and 16 May 2021.This election was called after 78% of voters in the 2020 national plebiscite voted to write a new Constitution through this method.

We are pleased to invite you to a webinar on the consequences of the election of the Constitutional Convention in Chile, which will be conducted by the Presidents of the Australian and Chilean chapters, Mr. Ian Hansen and Mr. Ramón Jara. ALABC Sydney Annual Dinner 2021

On the 27th May 2021, ALABC hosted our first Annual Dinner for 2021. We would like to thank our wonderful guest speakers Sandra Martínez, CEO of Nestlé Australia and The Hon.
