Letter from the Chief Executive Officer

Dear Members, friends and associates of ALABC,

With the end of the year looming large we would like to share with you some of our activities and announcements. Key to delivering on our mandate in 2025, ALABC has focused on identifying and growing opportunities for our membership, following emerging trends, expanding our network through agreements with likeminded representative bodies and working with multiple layers of government both here and throughout Latin America to bring closer alignment between our countries.

One such activity bringing all those elements together will be ALABC’s participation at the International Minerals and Resources Convention IMARC 2025 taking place between the 20 – 23 October. This year ALABC will be receiving delegates and Ambassadors from Peru, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Panama and Cuba who will be participating in our activities across the week. As a new initiative, ALABC will be hosting a LatAm Lounge on the convention floor, a one stop business hub, providing a unique opportunity for companies to fast-track business engagement.

We are excited to announce the following activities:

  • Delegate Welcome Breakfast
  • Business Briefing – Global Victoria
  • Opening of the ALABC LatAm Lounge 2025
  • Business matching opportunities
  • Panel discussions
  • Pop up presentations and workshops
  • Business Briefing – Trade and Investment Queensland

Please let us know if you would like to participate in any of these activities, especially the business matching and pop-up presentations and we will send you a registration link. Senior people will be traveling from the region, so if you are not aligned with Mining or METS there still may be valuable opportunities for you too, so please get in touch.

ALABC are also pleased to announce that in partnership with the Council on Australia Latin American Relations COALAR, we will be hosting a new marquee event on the 23 April 2026 in Melbourne. The Australia - Latin America Future Forum is a high-level, one-day forum designed to raise the profile of the Latin America – Australia relationship. The event will spotlight the region’s strategic relevance, particularly in sectors like energy transition, critical minerals, agriculture, and innovation, through thought-provoking panels, ministerial keynotes, success stories, and curated networking. We look forward to sharing more on this exciting event soon.

For all of this and more, check your ALABC email and follow our media channels.

Finally, ALABC is here for our members. Please get in touch and let us know how we can assist in growing your presence in Latin America.
