In conjunction with UNICEF & AISES, ALABC is proud to host our next Distinguished Speaker Series, with Mr Bernt Aasen UNICEF Regional Director for Latin America & Caribbean.
Mr. Bernt Aasen was appointed UNICEF Regional Director for Latin America and Caribbean in August 2009. Amongst his responsibilities for the Region, Mr Aasen leads UNICEF’s involvement with the International Olympic Committee and the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to support children’s rights to play, to mobilise communities and deliver important messages. Currently, his focus is the 2016 Olympics and 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The 2012 ALABC Annual Dinners will be held in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and are our highlight events for the year, giving members and other guests the opportunity to network with each other while celebrating their accomplishments.
The dinners are designed to bring together ALABC members and guests including senior business leaders from organisations throughout Australia, from a wide variety of industries and Australian and Latin American Government Officials, who have interest in doing business in Latin America and in Australia’s overall relationship with the region.

The Business Council is proud to announce that the 2012 ALABC Melbourne Annual Dinner, Guest of Honour and Key Note Speaker will be Peter Duncan, Chairman & Non-excutive Director of Orica.
Mr Duncan has been a Non-executive Director of Orica since June 2001 and was appointed Chairman in December 2009. He is also currently the Chairman ofthe Corporate Governance and Nominations Committee and Chairman of Scania Australia.
He is a former Director of the National Australia Bank, GasNet Australia and the CSIRO, a former member of the Siemens Australia Advisory Board and the former CEO of the Shell Group of Companies in Australia.
The Melbourne Dinner is scheduled for 29 August 2012. Stay tuned for confirmation of all the details, which will be posted shortly.
